About Us

The mission of Pleasant Bay Adventure Camp is to obey Jesus by fulfilling the great commission, to go and make disciples, by living for Christ through service and love towards each camper that comes through our doors.

Here at PBC, we understand that you want a safe place for your child to unplug, build lasting friendships, have fun, and grow in their relationship with God. As a camp, we strive to create that space.

For 60 years, Pleasant Bay has pursued our core mission of introducing Jesus Christ and his love to campers. This mission envelopes every activity we do at camp, from water sports to crafts, field games, chapel, devotionals, campfires, meals, and beyond!

We provide an entertaining, faith-based experience that will also develop your child’s self-confidence and interpersonal and relational skills and provide a safe place for your child to ask questions, be challenged, and grow.

Location

Pleasant Bay Adventure Camp is situated on Lake Ontario's beautiful shoreline and the North Bay next to North Beach Provincial Park in Prince Edward County. Waterfront activities take place on the calm shores of North Bay. We are blessed to be located on these 2 bodies of water!

Most notable about our location are the clear, tropical blue water and the vibrant sunsets that can be seen everywhere in the camp.

Campers unplug from home and enjoy the experience of God’s creation!

Our History

Children living in Prince Edward County who wanted to go to "Bible Camp" had to go all the way to Muskoka Baptist Conference near Huntsville!

One weekend, driving home from the Muskokas, the Pastor and kids were almost involved in a head-on collision with a car driving on the wrong side of the road. To avoid being hit, the driver had to swerve onto the road's shoulder; thankfully, no one was hurt.

When churches in the County heard about what happened, they decided it was time to find some property to build a summer camp for local kids to attend. However, there was one problem! They had no money! Imagine saying that to the real estate agent when telling them that you want to buy land to start a kids' camp!

God provided a miracle by connecting the search committee with Al Goheen, a real estate agent who had acquired the property where the kids' camp is currently located. Another business agreed to hold the mortgage with no down payment and low interest! Many others gave generously, and the property was purchased so kids would have a faith-centred camp to attend in the summer!

Sixty years later, kids are still coming to Pleasant Bay Adventure Camp for a Christ-centered, set-apart experience to remember!
